Terms of use

Accountability Games (the “app”) is a scorekeeping tool for small groups who set weekly goals and agree among themselves on consequences for missing them. By creating an account or joining a group you agree to these terms.

You sign in with your email address. You must give your real first and last name and a mobile number you control, keep them current, and use one account. You are responsible for anything done through your account.

Each group is run by its own admin, who sets the rules of each round: the minimum number of goals, the deadline, the strike limit, and any fees. Before joining a group you read its rules and sign them with your name. The signed copy, with the date and time, is kept and shown to the group's admin. Those rules are an agreement between you and the other members of your group. We are not a party to it and do not enforce it beyond keeping score.

The app records amounts that your group's rules say are owed, and payments that your group's treasurer or admin marks as received. Payments themselves happen outside the app, directly between members, through services such as Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle that have their own terms. We do not collect, hold, transfer, refund, or guarantee any money, and we are not a bank, payment processor, escrow service, or wallet.

Any dispute about a goal, a charge, or a payment is decided within your group under its rules, by the week's overseer or an admin. Their decision is final as between members. Groups may also choose to play with no fees at all.

Use the app only for your group's game. Don't misrepresent your check-ins, try to access other groups' data, interfere with the service, or use it for anything unlawful. Admins may remove members from a group; we may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

If you verify your mobile number and switch on text reminders, we send texts about deadlines, weekly results, dues, and overseer requests. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out; the switch in Settings turns them off too. Sign-in codes by text are sent only when you ask for one.

The app is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We may change or discontinue features, and we may update these terms; the date above shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Accountability Games and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any money owed between members of a group. Our total liability for anything arising from the app is limited to the amount you paid us to use it, which is nothing.
